Hundreds of Actos users have contacted lawyers about filing a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the diabetes drug. Individuals who took Actos and were diagnosed with bladder cancer may wish to speak with an attorney to find out whether they qualify to file a case.
Concerns about the safety of Actos arose in June 2011, when the Food and Drug Administration warned that patients who take Actos for more than one year may be up to 40% more likely to develop bladder cancer. Although the agency has not announced plans to recall Actos, health officials in France and Germany have already stopped sales of the drug in those countries, citing the increased bladder cancer risk associated with Actos.
At least 54 lawsuits involving patients who developed bladder cancer after using Actos have already been filed in the U.S. Actos lawyers involved in these cases have predicted that as many as 10,000 lawsuits may eventually be filed by patients who developed bladder cancer after taking the drug.
If you or a loved one used Actos and developed bladder cancer or other side effects, you may be eligible to file a lawsuit.
