Actos Class Action
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Takeda Pharmaceuticals, the manufacturer of the drug Actos. The Actos class action lawsuit seeks medical monitoring for patients who took the drug and may be at risk of developing bladder cancer or other side effects.
In addition to the class action suit, at least 54 individual lawsuits have been filed by patients who developed bladder cancer after taking Actos. The lawsuits allege that Takeda failed to properly warn patients that they could develop bladder cancer from taking Actos over an extended period.
Researchers have found that patients who use Actos for more than one year are more likely than non-users to develop bladder cancer. Based on these findings, health officials in France and Germany issued an Actos recall in June 2011.
Individuals who took Actos for diabetes and were diagnosed with bladder cancer may wish to speak to a lawyer about filing a lawsuit. An attorney with an experienced law firm can examine your case and help to determine whether you may be eligible to file an Actos lawsuit.
